What you should know about the 2023 PGA Championship

The PGA Championship changes venues every year, and this year it was held at the East Course of Oak Hill Country Club in Pittsford, New York. This course has been the site for the PGA Championship on three previous occasions. In 2022, the championship was held at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The championship consists of four rounds with one round per day, and after the first round, the top 70 players advance while the others are cut. This year, the championship started with 156 players. Unfortunately, Tiger Woods was not one of them.

This year, the Wanamaker Trophy was awarded to Brooks Koepka, but there was much more to win. The total purse was $17.5 million, making it the largest prize fund ever awarded at a major championship. Koepka received $3.15 million, and the two runner-ups received $1.54 million each. After that, the payouts trickle down. The golfers who finished inside the top 20 received $200,000 or more, and the top 32 golfers earned a minimum of six figures.

If a love for the game is not enough to inspire young golfers to play their best, scoring in the top 20 of the PGA Championship and having a six-figure payoff might. Even if your young golfer is just a casual player, they should be outfitted in the best. Garb Inc. has quality, stylish gear for your young athlete.
