One of the most prestigious tournaments in golf, the Players Tournament has a high-class field, a large purse, and a renowned host course in Florida. The Players Tournament has 144 players, including the winners of the PGA Tour events since the last Players Tournament, major champions from the past five years, the Tour Championship winners from the past three years, and the World Golf Championship winners from the past three years. The tournament also includes the top 50 players from the official World Golf Ranking.
The winner of the Players Tournament receives over $3 million and 80 points toward their world ranking. Currently, the winter also receives a five-year exemption on the PGA Tour, a three-year invitation to the Masters Tournament, and a three-year exemption for the U.S. Open and the Open Championship. Additionally, the winner earns 600 FedEx Cup points.
